You could say that the inspiration for OClass was sparked 20 years ago when Zach was a dance student in Lasalle. He had ambitions to dance professionally and was looking for additional dance classes outside of school. But there was very little information online—he even had to personally drop by the studio to register for courses. Back then attendance was also tracked via a paper card.

20 years later some schools are still using that archaic system. Others are stuck with software that is limited in scope, or with poor customer service. Our friends who owned dance studios urged us to create a solution that was relevant to the times, and which had local customer support.

OClass was launched on a small scale in 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, to support our friends who owned dance studios and tuition centres. To our surprise, the solution was so well-received that our customer base grew rapidly only through word-of-mouth.

OClass stands apart from the competition because of its Singapore-specific features. It is the first school management system in Singapore to be available as both a mobile and web app, and it also has PayNow integration.
